Tenstrings Band proudly stands as the official band of Tenstrings Music Institute, Nigeria’s largest and most esteemed school of music. With an illustrious 17-year history, Tenstrings Music Institute has nurtured and polished the talents of over 20,000 singers, instrumentalists, and producers from 16 countries, solidifying its reputation as a beacon of musical education.
Comprised of the crème de la crème of the institute’s graduates, Tenstrings Band showcases a remarkable pool of exceptional and versatile musicians. Renowned for their unrivaled skill and adaptability, the band effortlessly traverses a diverse range of genres including Jazz, Afrobeats, highlife, pop, and various African traditional genres. Their deep-rooted expertise allows them to create captivating and soul-stirring renditions across musical landscapes.
As a powerhouse ensemble, Tenstrings Band boasts a dynamic lineup of at least ten incredibly talented musicians. This ensemble includes two keyboardists, a bassist, a guitarist, a drummer, two percussionists, three seasoned horns men, and a collection of mesmerizing vocalists. Together, they weave a rich tapestry of sound, captivating audiences with their sheer artistry and musical brilliance.
Throughout the year, Tenstrings Band is a prominent fixture in over 20 grand-scale performances, enchanting audiences with their captivating performances. Additionally, they are a frequent presence at numerous events organized by the institute, both within its campuses and beyond. Their magnetic stage presence and extraordinary musical prowess have garnered them widespread acclaim and admiration.
Recognizing their immense talent and captivating stage presence, Tenstrings Band was handpicked as the official band for two consecutive editions of the “Lagos Freedom Festival” (2022-2023) -Nigeria’s Independence Day Concert, and the “Joy of Music Africa (JOMA) Festival” (2022-2023). These remarkable opportunities have allowed the band to leave an indelible mark on these notable festivals, captivating audiences with their electrifying performances and leaving them yearning for more.
In 2023, Tenstrings Band etched their name in the annals of musical excellence with standout performances at prestigious events. They graced the momentous 85th Anniversary of Ikoyi Club, Lagos, leaving an indelible mark on the celebration. Furthermore, they were honored to perform at the illustrious Nigeria-British Association Presidential Dinner, organized by the esteemed UK High Commission in Lagos.
